Ding Xuexiang Attends and Addresses the 2026 Annual Meeting of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development

On the afternoon of September 29, Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Premier of the State Council, and Chairman of CCICED, attended the 2026 Annual General Meeting of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development in Beijing and delivered a speech. Ding Xuexiang said that under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, China has achieved remarkable results in building an ecological civilization, which has also been widely recognized by the international community. He said that during the "15th FiveYear Plan" period, China will continue to promote a comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development and further improve the goals, measures, and institutional arrangements for green and lowcarbon development. Regarding global sustainable development, he made three suggestions: promoting green and lowcarbon development and upholding the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement; strengthening green technology innovation and the application of its achievements; and deepening open cooperation to advance the joint development of a green Belt and Road and SouthSouth cooperation on climate change. Ding Xuexiang also said that over the past five years, members and experts of the 7th CCICED have actively offered advice and made contributions to ecological civilization building in China and around the world. China has officially approved the establishment of the 8th CCICED and will continue to support its development. The theme of this annual meeting is "Pragmatic, Innovative Cooperation, Moving Forward Together on the Green Path," and more than 400 participants, including members, experts, and observers from China and abroad, attended the meeting.
