Kalshi files proposal for US stock perpetual futures
Kalshi perpetual futures bring stock-linked trading to a fast-growing product category See how the proposal could reshape access as regulators review rival exchange plans
Kalshi has filed a proposal to offer perpetual futures linked to individual US stocks, moving into a product area that has recently drawn interest from several market operators.
The company submitted the rule change to the Securities and Exchange Commission and sent it to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for review on Friday. The contracts would not have a set expiration date and would use periodic funding payments to keep prices aligned with the underlying stocks, according to the filing.
Kalshi said the products would be treated as security futures and cleared through its CFTCregistered clearinghouse, Kalshi Klear. The filing comes the same day Coinbase made a similar proposal, while Payward, Kraken’s parent company, has also filed plans for comparable products. Regulators have not yet approved the proposals.
