Bixi adjusts service for Montreal cycling championships

Bixi Montreal expands ride time and station access for UCI Road Worlds Extra bikes, longer hours and valet docks help riders get around during the event

Montreal bikeshare operator Bixi is changing its service as the city prepares to host the UCI Road World Championships from Sept. 20 to 27. From Sept. 13 to 27, monthly subscribers will be allowed 60 minutes of regular ride time per trip instead of 45. Bixi says riders will also be able to use 120 stations within 500 metres of the race routes in Montreal and Chambly. The company said up to 17 dropoff stations will have valets to help keep docks available and bikes ready, with six of those stations near competition venues. Operating hours will be extended during the event, and extra bikes will be added to several dozen stations in the morning to help manage expected demand and commuting needs during the backtoschool period.
