AWS and Bluesight Build AI for Hospital 340B Compliance
AWS Prism automates 340B compliance with AI-powered pharmacy workflows and audit-ready insights See how Bluesight and AWS streamline manual checks with secure data queries and reporting
AWS and Bluesight have developed Prism, an AI layer designed to connect hospital pharmacy and compliance data across Bluesight’s product suite. The system is being used to help automate parts of the 340B compliance workflow, which hospitals often handle manually.
According to AWS, Prism Assistant for ControlCheck is already in general availability and is used across 20 health systems. A second agent, aimed at 340B GPO compliance, is planned for release later in 2026. The article says the workflow requires teams to compare purchase records with shortage notices, inventory data, and other sources to determine whether drug purchases qualify for exceptions.
Bluesight says the AI assistant can query data, generate charts, and draft report material, while the underlying compliance determination remains in a deterministic scoring service rather than the language model itself. AWS also said the system was built with Bedrock, AgentCore, Lambda, and related security and audit tools, with a focus on authentication, encryption, and traceability.
