Police in Brampton, Ont., are investigating an early morning home invasion that left a woman with minor injuries and prompted a search for two suspects.
Peel Regional Police said officers responded around 4 a.m. Tuesday to reports of a disturbance at a home near Goreway Drive and Castlemore Road. Investigators believe at least two people entered the residence, leading to an altercation and possible gunfire inside the house.
A woman was injured in the foot and taken to hospital. Police said they do not yet know whether she was shot, and it is unclear if anything was taken from the home. Investigators are canvassing the area for witnesses and video, and say they believe the incident was targeted with no broader threat to public safety.
