B.C. police have issued an arrest warrant for former North Fraser Pretrial Centre correctional officer Naila Sheikh, who faces charges of breach of trust, impersonation, and unauthorized use of a government computer.
CBC News reports that court documents appear to link Sheikh to Rabih Alkhalil, the convicted gang murderer who escaped from the Port Coquitlam jail in July 2022 and was later arrested in Qatar in 2025. It is not clear whether Sheikh’s charges are connected to that escape.
The B.C. Prosecution Service says the charge was sworn on May 28 and that no court appearance has taken place because a warrant is outstanding. Sheikh has not commented publicly on the allegations.
