A leather jacket worn and signed by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang sold for $960,000 at Sotheby’s on Friday, far above the auction house’s estimate of $40,000 to $60,000.
The jacket was one of Huang’s signature black Tom Ford pieces and had been worn at a 2023 event in Taipei, Taiwan. The sale drew 45 bidders and took 65 bids to close.
Sotheby’s said the proceeds will support a philanthropic initiative tied to the Edge Institute, a nonprofit focused on innovation, with funds going toward fellowships, grants, and residencies. The result reflects growing collector interest in items connected to the AI boom and to highprofile tech executives.
