York Regional Police say a monthslong investigation into a dark web drug trafficking network led to the seizure of about $3 million in illegal drugs and other proceeds of crime. Police said the operation, known as Project Ghostwire, began in January 2026 after investigators identified an online marketplace called Icy White North. The platform allegedly served Canadian customers, used encrypted communications, and shipped drugs through regular mail services. Five people face more than 80 charges. Investigators said they seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, ketamine, heroin, MDMA, LSD, prescription pills, a firearm, cryptocurrency, cash, luxury vehicles, and watches during searches at multiple locations, including a Mississauga condo used in the operation.
