The Montreal Canadiens missed a chance to clinch their firstround playoff series on Friday, losing 10 in overtime to the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Bell Centre. Gage Goncalves scored the winner 9:03 into the extra period, and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 30 saves for a shutout as Tampa Bay tied the bestofseven series 33.
Montreal had several opportunities to end the series, including a power play early in overtime after Nikita Kucherov took a penalty. Vasilevskiy also made key stops late in regulation and throughout the game, while Canadiens goalie Jakub Dobes finished with 32 saves.
The decisive Game 7 will be played Sunday in Tampa, where both teams will try to advance after a tightly contested series marked by multiple overtime games and onegoal margins.
