The Toronto Sixers defended their Canada Super60 Cricket League women’s title on Saturday night at B.C. Place in Vancouver, defeating the previously unbeaten Vancouver Warriors by six wickets with three balls remaining.
Vancouver reached 84/9 after choosing to bat, but Toronto recovered from a poor start in its chase of 85. Ella McCaughan led the turnaround with an unbeaten 36 off 20 balls, while Indu Barma finished 18 not out and scored the winning runs.
The final was part of the debut of CBC Sports Primetime, which aired both the women’s final and an earlier men’s match between the Toronto Sixers and Mississauga Masters. The Canada Super60 competition uses a T10 format, with short matches played in Vancouver featuring a mix of Canadian and international players.
