Niagara Falls FIFA World Cup light show marks kickoff with Canada, Mexico, U.S. See the 15-minute June 11 display and nightly illuminations through the tournament
Niagara Falls will be illuminated on June 11 to mark the start of the FIFA World Cup, with a light show featuring the colours of Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Niagara Parks said the 15minute display begins at 10 p.m. and will be followed by nightly lighting during the tournament. The Falls will also show the colours of each host country on their respective groupstage game days.
The Niagara Falls Illumination Board has managed the landmark’s lighting since 1925. Its members include representatives from both Niagara Falls cities, Ontario Power Generation, the New York Power Authority, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the Niagara Parks Commission.
