Bunkerhill raises $55 million to expand agentic AI in health systems

Bunkerhill Health has raised $55 million in a Series B round to grow its agentic AI platform, Carebricks, which is already in use at several health systems including Cleveland Clinic, the University of Texas Medical Branch, and Intermountain Health. Existing backers such as Sequoia Capital, Felicis, Optum Ventures, and Y Combinator also participated in the round, alongside Khosla Ventures. The company says Carebricks helps hospitals build and run their own AI agents for clinical and operational tasks. Examples include reviewing cardiac imaging, managing prior authorisations, updating registry data, and improving triage workflows. Bunkerhill positions the platform as a way to move beyond pilot projects and into live use with real clinical data. At UTMB, more than 20 agents are reportedly running on Carebricks across care, operations, and administration. The health system says one agent helped identify a patient at high risk of a heart attack, while others have been used to prioritise kidney cases and track lung nodule followup. These results are reported by the health system and Bunkerhill, and the company says it will use the new funding to expand the platform and strengthen governance, monitoring, and safeguards.
