Two Montreal men sentenced in Toronto shooting death case

Two Montreal men have been sentenced for their roles in the 2024 shooting death of Issaïh Jünger, an 18yearold from Mississauga, outside an Airbnb in Toronto. Ontario Superior Court Justice Jane Kelly sentenced Dan Hakizimana, 22, to four years in prison and Hassan Farhat, 21, to five and a half years after both pleaded guilty to manslaughter in March. Court heard that the killing followed a dispute over stolen property. Jünger was shot twice on a porch near Lansdowne Avenue and Bloor Street West on Feb. 6, 2024, and later died in hospital. The judge said no sentence could undo the loss, while noting that firearms posed a serious threat to public safety. Police are still looking for a fourth person connected to the incident.
