RCMP investigate suspected homicide of 77-year-old man in Fort St. James

RCMP are investigating the suspected homicide of a 77yearold man in Fort St. James, B.C., after officers responded to a disturbance at a home early Monday morning. Police said they were called to a residence on the 800 block of B.C. Spruce Road around 2:40 a.m. PT on Sept. 14. When officers arrived, they found the man with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but later died. Investigators say the suspect or suspects had left the scene before police arrived. Major crime investigators have taken over the case, and RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact police. Staff Sgt. Kris Clark said the incident appears to be isolated and targeted.
