Toronto council to debate motion on Rogers Stadium noise

Toronto city council is expected to debate a motion this week that would ask Live Nation Canada to reduce the amount of concert noise from Rogers Stadium that reaches nearby neighbourhoods. Coun. James Pasternak, who represents York Centre, wants city staff to work with the company and an acoustics expert to study the venue layout and identify possible solutions. The proposal also asks Live Nation to pay for any changes and to explore options such as added monitoring and a possible sound barrier berm. Residents in areas including York Centre, Willowdale and parts of Vaughan have said noise from shows can be heard inside their homes, while Live Nation says its concerts comply with Toronto’s noise bylaw and that it monitors sound levels at every event. The stadium, which opened in 2025, has become a major event site and source of local economic activity, but complaints about noise continue to grow.
