Nearly a quarter of Quebec voters cast advance ballots for Oct. 5 election
Quebec election advance voting hits 23.6% as parties chase remaining voters See what’s driving turnout and the language-law debate before Oct. 5
Close to onequarter of eligible voters in Quebec have already voted ahead of the provincial election on Oct. 5, according to Élections Québec.
The agency said 23.6 per cent of voters took part in advance polling, including ballots cast at school campuses and retirement homes. Advance voting was held on Sunday and Monday.
With six days left before election day, candidates are trying to reach the remaining voters. Élections Québec has also faced questions over its guidance on asking whether a person has the right to receive communications in English before speaking to them in that language, a measure it said was meant to comply with Bill 96, Quebec's language law.
