OpenAI has published a set of early policy ideas aimed at shaping how society adapts to advanced artificial intelligence. The company says the goal is to expand opportunity, share the benefits of AI more broadly, and help build stronger public institutions.
The post, published on June 9, says the proposals are intended as a starting point for discussion rather than a final policy agenda. OpenAI also said it has already received more than 400 responses and is no longer accepting new submissions through the listed inbox.
As part of the initiative, OpenAI plans to review potential grant recipients, offer fellowships and research grants of up to $100,000, provide up to $1 million in API credits for related work, and host discussions at its new workshop in Washington, DC.
