Telus sues former employee over alleged $1.09 million fraud
Telus lawsuit: ex-director allegedly spent $1.09M on company cards for resale See the allegations, what was bought, and why the telecom giant is seeking damages
Telus is suing a former director in British Columbia, alleging he used company credit cards to buy more than 2,500 items worth over $1.09 million and resell them for personal gain.
According to a civil claim filed in B.C. Supreme Court, Raymond Chow and employees under him allegedly made the purchases over several years starting in 2020. The claim says the items included household goods, electronics, and gaming equipment, and that some expenses were submitted as business costs.
Telus says Chow, who worked as director of technical products and services, consumer solutions, was fired last month. The company is seeking damages and a full accounting of any profits from the alleged scheme. The claims have not been proven in court, and Chow has not yet responded.
