An Ontario woman and her partner have pleaded guilty in connection with a fake ticket scheme that defrauded more than 100 Taylor Swift fans out of more than $265,000.
According to an agreed statement of facts, Denise Tisor used messages and emails to pose as a trusted ticket reseller and claimed she had a contact at Rogers Centre who could secure Eras Tour seats. Victims were told they would receive tickets shortly before the Toronto shows in November 2024, but the tickets never arrived.
Court documents say Tisor and her partner, Davide Blake, collected payments from fans, some of whom spent thousands of dollars trying to buy concert tickets. The couple later spent much of the money on online gambling, with the statement of facts saying they lost tens of thousands of dollars. Tisor pleaded guilty to defrauding the public, while Blake pleaded guilty to possessing property obtained by crime.
