Four people have been sentenced in connection with the 2023 killing of a 19yearold man in Burnaby, British Columbia, according to IHIT.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said all four pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Their prison terms range from six years to 10.5 years, and each received credit for time already served, along with lifetime firearms bans and DNA orders.
Police say Burnaby RCMP were called to a home on June 29, 2023, after a home invasion in the 7600block of 17 Avenue. Officers found Ryan Nagy with lifethreatening injuries, and he died at the scene. A woman was also injured and taken to hospital.
IHIT said the BC Prosecution Service approved charges in September 2024 after the agency worked with Burnaby RCMP, forensic investigators, and the BC Coroners Service.
