OpenAI consolidates product leadership under Greg Brockman

OpenAI leadership shifts as Greg Brockman takes on expanded product and business duties See what the move means for ChatGPT, enterprise strategy, and OpenAI's IPO push

OpenAI is expanding the responsibilities of cofounder and president Greg Brockman after Fidji Simo stepped down from her role as product and business chief. According to a source familiar with the company’s plans, Brockman will continue to oversee ChatGPT, along with gotomarket, enterprise, and compute efforts. Simo left after a period of medical leave and will remain involved as a parttime advisor. The leadership change comes as OpenAI prepares for a possible public offering and faces growing pressure to generate revenue and support its large valuation. The company is also dealing with stronger competition from rivals such as Anthropic, Google, and Chinese openweight model makers, while ChatGPT’s share of the market has recently slipped below 50%.
