Peel Regional Police say a former Air Canada captain from Barrie, Ontario, has been charged after allegedly flying hundreds of domestic and international flights without the proper airline transport pilot licence.
Police allege Geoffrey Wall flew in the role from 2009 to 2025 while using fraudulent documents to mislead Air Canada and Transport Canada. Investigators say the case, known as Project Icarus, began after concerns were raised during a review of licensing records and flight credentials.
Air Canada said safety was not compromised and noted that the pilot had been removed from active duty after the issue was discovered. Transport Canada and the federal transport minister said the matter will be reviewed, while police said the allegations involve fraud, forged documents and public mischief.
