Xebia says organizations that want to use AI agents effectively need to start with their data. According to global CTO Niels Zeilemaker, agents can only perform well if the underlying data is accessible, accurate, and well described.
Zeilemaker said data catalogues matter more in agentic systems because AI tools do not have the human fallback of asking a colleague for clarification. If metadata is incomplete or incorrect, agents may misread information or combine fields that should not be linked.
The company is promoting its Agentic Data Foundation approach to help enterprises prepare data platforms for AI use, speed up migrations from legacy systems, and support both customerfacing and internal applications. Xebia also points to its AInative software engineering framework, which it says can help accelerate delivery while maintaining governance and quality.
