President Donald Trump said Scott Bessent will not take on the role of artificial intelligence czar, after reports suggested the Treasury secretary was being considered for the position.
Trump said in a Truth Social post that Bessent does not want the job and is doing strong work at the Treasury Department, adding that he wants to keep him in place.
The comments came days after Trump said he planned to create an AIfocused force and name an AI czar as part of a broader push on artificial intelligence policy.
