Three charged after 67 kg cocaine seizure in Saint-Sauveur, Quebec

Three men are facing charges after an RCMPled operation in SaintSauveur, Quebec, led to the seizure of about 67 kilograms of cocaine from a home on July 3. Police said the raid, carried out with the Canada Border Services Agency, also turned up about $115,000 in cash, ammunition and several cellphones. The accused are Rodrigue Gionet, 72, of Allardville, New Brunswick; Sébastien Morel, 42, of SaintSauveur; and Evens Pierrelouis, 50, of SaintSauveur. They appeared at the SaintJérôme courthouse on Friday on charges related to importing cocaine and possessing it for the purpose of trafficking. All three remain in custody and were scheduled to return to court Tuesday for bail hearings. RCMP said two other people were arrested, questioned and later released, and that the investigation is still ongoing.
