A Toronto police drug squad officer has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing cocaine and methamphetamine, breach of trust, and obstructing justice.
Brian Sukhram was arrested after a pursuit involving Peel Regional Police in July 2024, following a night in which he had helped process drugs seized during a Toronto police operation. Court records say officers later found methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and other substances in a backpack linked to him.
The case also included allegations of impaired driving, collisions, and attempts to evade police. Sukhram has been suspended without pay, and the Ontario Provincial Police later took over the investigation from Toronto police professional standards investigators.
