Evacuation orders issued for Pear Lake wildfire near Clinton

Two regional districts have issued evacuation orders for parts of the Downing Park area southwest of Clinton, B.C., because of the Pear Lake wildfire.
The orders cover the Downing Provincial Park campground and dayuse area, along with 11 properties on Pear Lake and PavilionClinton roads. Officials said people in the affected area must leave immediately.
The B.C. Wildfire Service says the fire is about 50 hectares and remains out of control east of Pear Lake. The article also notes other active wildfirerelated alerts in parts of the province, including Kimberley, St. Mary Lake, and the Fraser Canyon area.
The wildfire service also said crews near Boston Bar used a drone to start a controlled burn on part of the Brunswick complex, describing it as a first for Canada and saying the method can improve safety and precision in difficult terrain.
