Bonnie Crombie plans to run for mayor of Mississauga

Bonnie Crombie says she plans to enter the Mississauga mayoral race, aiming to return to the role she held for 10 years before leaving in 2024 to lead the Ontario Liberals. According to a message obtained by The Canadian Press, Crombie intends to register as a candidate on Tuesday. She would face incumbent mayor Carolyn Parrish and other challengers, including city councillors Alvin Tedjo and Dipika Damerla. Crombie resigned as Ontario Liberal leader earlier this year after weak support at the party’s 2025 annual general meeting and a provincial election in which she failed to win a legislature seat. Before politics, she had a business career and later served as a Liberal MP and Mississauga city councillor.
