MS NOW, CNN reporters denied White House access after Trump ban
White House press ban blocks MS NOW, CNN and Politico after Trump’s move See how the access fight escalates as reporters and outlets push back
Journalists from MS NOW, CNN and Politico were turned away from the White House grounds on Saturday, a day after President Donald Trump said he was banning the outlets over their coverage of him.
MS NOW said its reporters were blocked from entering the complex for the first time that morning. CNN later said its journalists were also denied access, while Politico said one of its reporters had her pass confiscated by the Secret Service.
Trump said on Friday that the outlets should not be able to publish what he called false coverage of him and his administration. The move follows earlier clashes between the White House and reporters, including past efforts to restrict access for Associated Press journalists and a 2018 dispute involving CNN.
