Trump speaks with Putin and Zelenskyy about Ukraine war

U.S. President Donald Trump held a lengthy phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin and said he was ready to help seek a path toward ending the war in Ukraine. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said the nearly 90minute call took place on Saturday, while Trump also spoke separately with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to Ushakov, Trump described U.S. diplomatic efforts as still active, with envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner expected to continue efforts to broker a settlement. Russia said any agreement would need to address its control over Ukraine's Donbas region, a demand Kyiv has rejected. Zelenskyy called his conversation with Trump very good and said they discussed the situation along the front line and the possibility of ending the war. He said both sides agreed to continue the discussion at the upcoming NATO meeting.
