Eastbound TTC streetcars on King Street in Toronto are being diverted after a truck struck an overpass near King Street West and Atlantic Avenue on Wednesday morning.
According to TTC spokesperson Stuart Green, eastbound service is being rerouted to Queen Street West between Dufferin Street and Shaw Street while repairs are carried out. Shuttle buses are operating in the affected area, while westbound streetcars are continuing on King Street.
Green said the impact damaged overhead wiring and supporting infrastructure, and crews are still assessing how long the repairs will take. Toronto police said no one was injured and officers were at the scene. TTC officials also said crews will be staged downtown during FIFArelated events to respond faster if similar incidents happen.
