UAW strike threatens GM truck production

Nearly 1,000 workers at a Michigan parts plant that supplies General Motors pickup trucks went on strike on Monday after contract talks broke down, according to the United Auto Workers.
The stoppage involves a Dauch Corp. axle and components plant in Three Rivers, Michigan. The union said workers are seeking higher pay and improved benefits, while the company said it remains committed to bargaining in good faith.
GM said it is monitoring the situation and assessing any possible disruption. The plant supplies axles and other parts for GM’s Colorado, Canyon, Silverado and Sierra trucks, as well as some components for Stellantis' Pacifica minivan.
