A car drove into a pedestrian zone in Leipzig, Germany, on Monday, killing two people and injuring several others, according to officials.
Police detained a 33yearold German man after the crash. Authorities said there was no ongoing threat to the public while they investigated what caused the incident.
Leipzig Mayor Burkhard Jung said the city was mourning the deaths and that at least three people were seriously injured. Investigators have not said whether the crash was intentional.
