Anchorage Digital adds institutional access to Frgmnt’s fUSD stablecoin
Anchorage Digital adds fUSD and sfUSD custody for institutions Hold, mint, stake, and redeem through one regulated platform
Anchorage Digital has partnered with Frgmnt to give institutional clients access to the fUSD and sfUSD stablecoins through its custody platform. The US federally chartered crypto bank says institutions will be able to hold, mint, redeem, stake, and unstake the tokens without opening a separate custody setup.
Frgmnt is a stablecoin protocol on Base that issues fUSD against USDC and deploys its backing in onchain lending markets. Its staking token, sfUSD, is designed to generate protocolbased rewards, although returns can vary with market conditions.
The protocol remains in a capped, inviteonly beta and has about $100,000 in total value locked, according to DeFiLlama. Frgmnt plans to open public access and raise its deposit cap on Sept. 15. Anchorage Digital, which is regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, has been expanding its stablecoin and staking services for institutional users.
