Powerful storm causes flooding and outages in the northeast U.S.
Nor'easter brings heavy rain, strong winds and coastal flooding to the Northeast See how the storm cut power, canceled flights and disrupted travel
A slowmoving nor'easter brought heavy rain, strong winds and dangerous coastal flooding to parts of the northeastern United States on Saturday. The storm knocked out power for about 100,000 customers and disrupted travel across the region.
In New Jersey and Massachusetts, streets flooded, waves hit the shoreline and some homes were affected. Officials said the storm was expected to continue into the weekend, with high tides, rain and wind posing ongoing risks.
The weather also caused widespread travel and event disruptions. Hundreds of flights were canceled at Boston Logan International Airport, baseball schedules were changed, and Ed Sheeran canceled planned concerts in Massachusetts.
