Bitget says $388M in assets were affected by security breach
Bitget breach update: $388M in assets affected after revised transfer count Withdrawals stay paused as tracing and bounty efforts aim to recover funds
Bitget has updated its report on a security breach, saying about $388 million in assets were affected rather than the $352 million initially estimated. The exchange said the revised figure reflects a more complete count of transfers linked to the incident.
In a Friday update, Bitget said withdrawals would remain paused while it works to recover the assets and has launched a bounty program to encourage help freezing them. The company said onchain tracing showed $387.5 million was transferred to attackercontrolled addresses.
Bitget said the incident involved multiple networks, including Ethereum Virtual Machine chains, the XRP Ledger, Zcash, and TRON. The assets mentioned include XRP, ether, USDT, ZEC, USDC, USDT0, XAUt, BNB, AVAX, and TRX. The update did not address earlier speculation about who may have been behind the attack.
