Visa expands data offering for blockchain lenders

Visa blockchain settlement data helps lenders track stablecoin card growth See how onchain credit tools could improve funding decisions as demand rises

Visa said it will make more settlement data available to lenders using blockchain infrastructure as demand grows for stablecoinlinked cards. The company said the move is meant to give lenders better visibility into the financial performance of digital assetfocused fintech firms and card issuers. The payments company said it now supports more than 160 stablecoinlinked card programs, up nearly 200% from a year earlier. Visa crypto head Cuy Sheffield said the market for these cards is growing quickly, with new issuers joining the network regularly. Visa is also working with partners on financing tools built with smart contracts and onchain credit. The company said the offering is intended to help lenders assess businesses more efficiently as digital asset payment products expand.
