The Thompson Nicola Regional District expanded an evacuation order Friday for 118 properties near Clinton and Kelly Lake in southcentral British Columbia. Officials said the order was issued because of the immediate risk to life and safety from the Pear Lake wildfire, which is estimated at 1,384 hectares. The affected area includes Electoral Area E, also known as BonapartePlateau, and about 58 addressed properties west of Clinton and east of Kelly Lake remained under evacuation order. The district said roughly 60 additional addressed properties were newly impacted, and residents in the area were told to leave immediately.
