Four leading candidates in Mississauga’s mayoral race are set to meet Friday in the campaign’s first debate. Incumbent Mayor Carolyn Parrish, former mayor Bonnie Crombie, and councillors Alvin Tedjo and Dipika Damerla are taking part. The debate is being hosted by CBC News and the Mississauga Board of Trade at Sheridan College’s Hazel McCallion Campus. CBC says it will stream live on its platforms at 2:30 p.m. ET. Recent polling showed Parrish and Crombie tied near the top, while Damerla and Tedjo trailed behind. The race includes 14 candidates in total, and the debate is expected to focus on key local issues and campaign differences.
