SpaceX could shape the next wave of mega-cap IPOs

SpaceX IPO sets a template for future mega-listings from Anthropic and OpenAI. See how market conditions and index inclusion could shape the next big debut.

SpaceX is being viewed as a possible model for future large initial public offerings, including expected debuts from companies such as Anthropic and OpenAI. The discussion comes from market watchers who say the company’s recent public debut and quick move into major indexes may offer a template for other highvalue listings. Nick Ryder of Kathmere Capital Management said the market environment will matter for any similar IPOs ahead, noting that recent equity gains helped support SpaceX’s debut. He added that conditions could change by the time other companies go public, making outcomes harder to judge. SpaceX went public on June 12 at a valuation above $2 trillion and rose sharply in its first few sessions before giving back part of those gains. The company is already in the Russell 1000 and is scheduled to join the Nasdaq100 after the market close on July 6, highlighting how quickly some large listings can enter major index benchmarks.
