Police in Sherbrooke, Que., say an 18yearold man will be charged after his mother was found badly injured in a home on Thursday evening and later died in hospital.
Officers were called to a residence on Laiterie Street around 9 p.m. after a neighbour contacted police. A 41yearold woman was discovered with severe injuries, and the suspect was arrested at the scene.
Investigators say the case involved a family dispute and that the woman was fatally hurt with a blunt object. Police also found a young girl injured inside the home. She was taken to hospital with injuries described as nonlifethreatening. The suspect is expected to appear in court later on Friday.
