Stocks and ETFs rally as banks hit records and key movers surge or slip Track midday market action, from SpaceX and semiconductors to biotech winners

Several stocks and ETFs moved sharply in midday trading on Wednesday, with SpaceX giving back part of its recent gains after a strong debut week as a public company. Bank shares continued to outperform, as JPMorgan, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Citigroup all reached or approached record levels. The Invesco KBW Bank ETF also hit an alltime high. Other notable movers included CarMax, which fell after reporting quarterly results that beat expectations, and LaZBoy, which rose on stronger retail sales and margin improvement. Semiconductor names were also active, with Intel, AMD, Broadcom and Qualcomm rebounding after Tuesday’s pullback. Among the biggest individual moves, UniQure surged after the FDA agreed with its plan to file an application for a Huntington’s disease gene therapy, while Nano Nuclear Energy gained after Roth Capital began coverage with a buy rating. Figma also advanced after Citigroup initiated coverage with a buy rating.
