RCMP national security charges: ex-officer accused of leaking protected info See the allegations, charges, and what police say was found at his home
The RCMP says a former officer has been charged in connection with a national security investigation.
Police said the 47yearold man, Michael Scoretz of Bowen Island, was arrested Thursday and faces 13 charges, including six counts of unauthorized communication of special operational information and seven counts of breach of trust.
Investigators allege that, while he was bound by the Security of Information Act, he shared protected or classified information with people he was involved with between August 2020 and February 2023. The RCMP also said workrelated material was found at his home and that the case did not affect any current national security investigations.
