Alouettes defeat Redblacks 34-13 behind Alexander's strong performance

Montreal Alouettes rout Redblacks 34-13 to stay atop the CFL East Davis Alexander threw for 420 yards and 3 TDs in a dominant win

The Montreal Alouettes beat the Ottawa Redblacks 3413 on Friday night in Ottawa to improve to 71 and keep their place atop the CFL East. Quarterback Davis Alexander completed 22 of 30 passes for 420 yards and threw three touchdowns. Montreal scored on its first two drives and controlled the game from start to finish. Ottawa fell to 07, the worst start in team history. The Redblacks struggled to finish drives, converting just once in five trips to the red zone. Jake Maier passed for 311 yards, but Ottawa could not keep pace after Montreal pulled ahead early. Montreal will host the Edmonton Elks on Aug. 8, while Ottawa visits the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Aug. 7.
