Deer crashes through Ontario apartment window, wakes resident

An Ontario woman was startled awake over the weekend when a deer jumped through the bedroom window of a groundfloor apartment in Owen Sound. Police said officers were already at the apartment complex on an unrelated call when they saw the deer in the parking area. Nearby activity appeared to frighten the animal, which then leapt through the window and entered the apartment where two women were inside. Officers evacuated the occupants, opened the patio door to give the deer an exit route and, after several attempts, guided it back outside. One resident suffered minor scrapes, while police said the damage to the bedroom was significant. Officials said the deer appeared to escape without serious injury.
