Canada Day activities in Ottawa were suspended after heavy rain and flooding See which events paused and where roads closed as storms disrupted the city

Canada Day activities in Ottawa were suspended on Wednesday afternoon after heavy rain caused flooding and road closures across the city. Canadian Heritage said events at LeBreton Flats Park, Old Hull, Parliament Hill and near the Supreme Court of Canada were paused until further notice. The decision came as water covered parts of Highway 417 and other roads, leading police to warn drivers to avoid affected areas. The weatherrelated disruptions came as the National Capital Region remained under heat and thunderstorm advisories from Environment Canada.
