Tom Tiffany plane emergency landing in Lake Wausau See how Tiffany and his pilot survived and what investigators found

Wisconsin Republican gubernatorial candidate and U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany said he and a pilot suffered minor injuries after their small plane lost power and made an emergency water landing in Lake Wausau on Saturday night. According to Tiffany and his campaign, the Beechcraft K35 was approaching Wausau Downtown Airport after an event in La Crosse County when it lost power. Tiffany said he and the pilot called 911, then exited the aircraft as it began to sink and swam to a shallow area before rescuers reached them by boat. Both men were taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital and later released. Tiffany said he had a cut above his right eye that required stitches. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to investigate the cause of the power loss.
