A small skydiving aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff in northeastern France on Sunday, killing all 11 people aboard, according to French officials.
The singleengine Pilatus PC6 went down near NancyEssey Airfield outside Nancy. Authorities said the dead included the pilot, five skydiving instructors and five firsttime jumpers.
French officials said some relatives saw the plane fall and were deeply shaken by the crash. Investigators from France’s civil aviation safety agency have opened a probe, but the cause has not yet been determined.
