Hamilton air ambulance missing off Nantucket after losing contact over water U.S. search crews are racing to locate the jet and the five people aboard
U.S. search teams are looking for a Hamiltonbased air ambulance that lost contact and went missing off the coast of Nantucket early Saturday.
The Federal Aviation Administration said it issued a search and rescue alert for the Gulfstream G100 around 1:20 a.m. The aircraft had departed from Bermuda and was headed to Boston, but it did not arrive as scheduled. Flight data showed the plane descending before contact was lost.
The U.S. Coast Guard said air and surface crews were launched in the search. Latitude Air Ambulance, the Ontario company that operates the jet, said the aircraft was carrying a patient, a family member, two pilots and two medical staff. The company said this was the first time it had lost contact with one of its planes.
