Several homes in a Mississauga neighbourhood were evacuated on Saturday evening after an active house fire broke out in the Erin Mills area, according to Peel Regional Police.
The fire was reported near Ruperts Gate Drive and Russell View Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and police said the surrounding homes were cleared as a precaution while firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
As of 9:45 p.m., no injuries had been reported. Road closures were in place near Glen Erin Drive and Middlebury Drive, as well as at Ruperts Gate Drive and Russell View Road, and motorists were asked to avoid the area.
